Do I need to Double Cleanse?

Double Cleansing - first of all, what is it? And secondly DO I NEED TO DO IT!? My answer is typically this: nobody HAS to double cleanse, but there are a few skin types and conditions that would hugely benefit. Acne or breakout prone? Yes, you should double cleanse at night. Rosacea prone? You should likely consider it too. The rest of you land somewhere in the middle. What we don’t realize about the skin is that it’s taking on everything we take on during the day, whether that’s sweat, dirt, pollution, makeup and (better be) sunscreen. In order for your skincare routine to truly absorb, do its job and thrive you really want to prep the skin as much as possible. That means clean, and in my opinion double cleansing is the best way to do that. I don’t feel like micellar water is really enough to remove your makeup fully. Oil attracts oil, so for the first cleanse? Use an oil based cleanser. I’ve tried BioDerma, Beauty Counter, La Roche Posay, Versed and One Love Organics. One Love is far and away the best and most effective that I’ve seen - and though its not the cheapest one you’ll find there’s certainly something to be said about the feeling of being excited to wash your face at night!
